DECATUR—The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) DeKalb County branch is launching the Georgia NAACP’s “#DoItAgain” voter outreach campaign. Through the initiative, the organization plans to safely conduct voter registration, provide voter information and encourage all eligible citizens to exercise their right to vote.

“Voting in the Jan. 5th runoff election is so critical for everyone to do. Georgia voters were highly motivated for the general election and made their voices heard. The same kind of enthusiasm and dedication are needed for the runoff elections,” said NAACP DeKalb Political Action Chair Nadine Ali. “…We did it once. We can do it again.”

NAACP DeKalb President Teresa Hardy concurs, saying the organization is working to encourage Georgia’s youngest voters to participate in the upcoming runoffs.

“We must #DoItAgain! All citizens who voted in November and the 23,000 plus persons who will turn 18 before Jan. 5 are urged to come out to vote,” Hardy said.

Hardy said the NAACP is recruiting churches, schools, businesses, residents and elected officials to assist with voter registration, phone banking, texting and no-contact canvassing from Nov. 30, 2020 – Jan. 5, 2021. Those who wish to volunteer should email: and write in the subject line “I want to volunteer.”
